Oncology Massage

FOUNDATION PROGRAM

Learn how to provide safe therapeutic massage for oncology clients. This 24-hour, 3-day program is a core curriculum necessity for massage therapists working with clients in or with a history of cancer treatment and when you look at cancer statistics, that means all licensed therapists, everywhere.

Workshop time is shared between clinical considerations review and hands-on practice, and prepares practitioners with the knowledge to provide safe and therapeutic massage for clients in or with a history of cancer treatment. Day 3 of class includes a one-hour oncology client massage.
Massage therapists who complete this course qualify to register as Preferred Practitioners with the Society for Oncology Massage.

Join us to learn about –

The primary clinical considerations relevant to providing massage for people in or with a history of cancer treatment.

How to customize your massage for oncology clients.

Massage site, positioning and pressure modifications that pertain to medical devices, surgical procedures and drug treatment related side effects.

Workshop concludes with a one-hour oncology massage for someone in or with a history of cancer treatment on the third workshop day.

Course Details

Prerequisites
This course is offered to licensed massage therapists, estheticians, RN, Nurse Aides and allied healthcare professionals, or by special permission of the instructor.
