The Science and Art of Touch
In 2003 the first Greet The Day community outreach program, Spa Day Retreat, was started by and at Spa Gregorie's, Newport Beach, CA. The Spa Day Retreat was originated by Scott Duncan, Spa Gregorie's General Manager, and collaboratvely designed with the support of Dr. Christine (Tinka) Hrountas, and the BreastLink team Drs Link and Waisman, and Nandini Narayanan, LCSW oncology services. As of January 2011, more than 550 cancer center referred guests have attended this program.
Women's Cancer Research Foundation 2008 Humanitarian Award
Spa Gregorie's and Greet The Day co-founder Johnnette du Rand Kelly received the 2008 Humanitarian Award from the Women's Cancer Research Foundation in recognition of "Chemo Comfort Touch", the Greet The Day Infusion Center Massage Program. "Chemo Comfort Touch" was launched at Gynecologic Oncology Associates, Newport Beach, CA, in 2006. The program was designed and implemented by Oncology Massage therapist and educator du Rand Kelly, together with Mona Kirylo, the first Greet The Day oncology massage esthetician. In 2011 nine Infusion Centers in Orange County and surrounding areas participated in this program, and more than 4,000 patients have received massage on site in the Infusion Centers.
